Selmer Reference -54: The Reference Series is Selmer’s nod towards their hugely popular saxophones of the past, encapsulating the spirit of these fantastic instruments into a newly refined design. In the Reference 54, Selmer took inspiration from their hugely popular Mark VI - a strong centred sound with plenty of projection, whilst redesigning the neck, bore size and ergonomics. The result is an instantly recognisable sound in a sax that is a joy to play. Compared to many vintage instruments, the key work on the Reference 54 is smooth and easy to play with a modern layout that improves tuning stability and makes side and palm keys a lot more accessible. This piece was bought new in 2018 at renowned Thomann in Germany, document included. It was used for a year, and has been resting since. Mint condition, but needs to change a few pads for ultimate performance.
