Description

Pogostemon cablin Also known as: Patchouli Here is native to the island region of Southeast Asia, including Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Malay Peninsula, New Guinea and the Philippines. It is also found in many parts of North East India. Noted for its fragrant essential oil, it has many commercial uses and is now extensively cultivated in tropical climates around the world. The plant grows as a bushy perennial herb, with erect stems reaching up to 2.5 ft in height and bearing small, pale purple-white flowers. The heavy, strong, woody, and earthy scent of patchouli has been used for centuries in perfumes, and more recently in incense, insect repellents, chewing tobacco, and many alternative medicines to treat colds, headaches, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, insect and snake bites. It is antibacterial and anti fungal. Leaves have been used to make a herbal tea and in some cultures, the leaves are eaten as a vegetable or used as a seasoning. It grows well in warm to tropical climates. It thrives in hot, humid weather but not extended periods of direct sunlight. If the plant withers due to lack of water, it tends to recover quickly after rain or watering. It can easily be potted and grown indoors for those in cold regions. USDA zones: 9-11 Seeds are small so each bag may contain hundreds of seeds. This offer is for .5 gram (half a gram) seeds. For complete transparency we include payment processing & Ebay fees in our shipping/handling cost. *DISCLAIMER* NO RETURNS / REFUNDS/REPLACEMENTS ON SEEDS Most specialty seeds we offer are NOT fast to germinate. Many take several weeks, months, and some even up towards a year depending on dormancy, region, season etc. It is important that the buyer understand s that seeds are perishable products and seed germination can be adversely affected by such factors as mold/fungus, bugs, temperature, moisture content, light intensity, dormancy, care, contamination of planting media among many other reasons . These factors are totally out of The Plant Attraction's control and are the buyer's responsibility and risk. Germination recommendations are sent with each order and the buyer is free to research and use their own methods. Floating seeds do not always indicate that the seed is not viable. Many times it is a misconception because the seed does not have the density to sink in water. Accordingly, The Plant Attraction does not guarantee seeds to perform properly regardless of conditions or buyer's methods or mistakes. Since 2006 we have been doing our best to hand sort and provide the freshest, cleanest harvest that is free of defects and bugs.
