Replacing your galvanized boat trailer axle has never been simpler! Manufactured by Autoflex Knott, this galvanized axle comes with pre-installed galvanized idler hubs and a brake flange, allowing for the easy installation of drum or disc brakes. The axle also features adjustable spring seat centers, and we include two galvanized bolt-on spring seats with every Knott spring axle to make your repair even more convenient. This trailer axle has a weight capacity of 3,500 lbs, and the included hubs contain the standard 1 3/8" x 1 1/16" bearing combination (bearing numbers 68149 and 44649) commonly used in trailer hubs of this weight capacity. The grease seal has an inner diameter of 1.719". The axle beam itself is made of high quality 1/4" thick 2" x 2" steel tubing that its hot dipped galvanized for superior resistance to corrosion and rust. The Hub Face Measurement for a new axle is critically important, it is taken from the outside of one hub to the outside of the hub on the opposite end of the axle. This measurement tells you where the center of your tires will sit on the trailer, so when getting a new axle it's best to get one that has a similar hub face measurement to your current trailer axle. This Axle's Hub Face Measurement is equal to 93.5". The Spring Center Measurement is Equally important, that's the measurement from the center of 1 leaf spring to the center of the leaf spring on the opposite side of the trailer. This is the mounting point for your trailer axle, so it's important that you get a new axle that can fit in that same location on your trailer, otherwise the axle will not line up properly and won't be able to be installed.
