100 seeds from Hungarian Blue Breadseed poppy harvested in Summer of 2023 for 2024 season - open-pollinated grown without herbicides or pesticides. Large purple/lavender poppy blossoms with light green centers. Hungarian Blue Breadseed poppy are annuals that grow best in early spring when weather is still cool. The blossoms are short lived, but eye-catching(see photos). They bloom in early-summer in May/June. After flowering the seed pod forms and plant dies back. A vigorous plant can produce several blooms. The seeds are ready to harvest when seed pod dries to a light brown color. This variety the seed pod dries without opening hole that spill seeds, so they’re easier to collect. This sale is for winnowed seeds only for growing flowers, no other parts of plant included. Seeds are light grey/silver in color with a pleasant nutty flavor. Good germination - seeds tested 4-4-2024 Since seeds are small, suggest starting indoors in pots until plants are at least an inch tall, sprinkle seeds on top of soil and keep soil moist until seedlings get established about 4-5 weeks, plant outdoors and minimize disturbing roots in early spring after last frost.
