Description
Up for sale is this relacquered 1965/66 Buescher 400 tenor sax manufactured during the early post-Selmer buyout of Buescher (1963). This 400 is a solid player condition sax with minor scuffs and one dent in the bottom bow (see photo) that does not affect sound production. This sax has many of the traditional Buescher characteristics of the early 60s era such as the underslung octave key, "boat anchor" neck hook, Norton springs. Horn was serviced in November 2023 with all new corks, felts, and pads (note: some original snap-in pads have been replaced with non-snaps). Engraving is still visible but not as crisp as when new. The horn has no leaks and plays great top to bottom. Neck is tight and shows no signs of pull down. Regulation and intonation are very good. This horn is ready to play out of the case. Sax will be carefully packed and shipped in original Selmer tenor sax case. Price is $800. Shipping and handling $75 to Continental US
