Up for auction is a rare professional Buescher 400 Top Hat & Cane alto saxophone. The pads and corks are in poor to fair condition and should be replaced for good playing condition or this can be professionally overhauled for optimal performance. This alto saxophone has the raised Buescher 400 logo, elaborate Top Hat and Cane bell engraving, a bell tone ring and an under-slung octave key on the neck. The neck has no major pull down, there are no major dents present and the minor dents can be removed during the restoration. This alto saxophone has scratches throughout and lacquer wear, with approximately 75% of lacquer intact(possibly not original). The serial number is in the lower 323,xxx range, which dates manufacture to approximately 1950. Included is a somewhat used and worn wood shell alto saxophone case(interior is intact, both latches catch, exterior has some wear). No mouthpiece is included, the pictures provided are considered as part of the description and this is being sold in "as-is" condition.
