Use of a lithium or graphite based lubricant is recommended during installation to prevent galling. U-bolts must be tightened using hand tools ONLY and threaded on correctly. Improper threading, use of power tools, over-tightening or tightening too fast will result in galling or sticking of the U-bolt. The only way to prevent galling and the nut snapping off is to USE A LITHIUM or GRAPHITE based LUBRICANT.
