Description

Here you get 100+ seeds of Cleome, also known as Spider Flower. Cleome is a fast-growing annual plant with dramatic large, loose balls of flowers with fascinating long stamens that protrude out, giving them a spider-like look. The attractive blooms are followed by thin seed pods that will split open before dispersing the seed. Blooming over a reasonably long period, from early summer until frost, Cleome is a wonderful pollinator plant attracting hummingbirds, butterflies and bees. Vigorously growing up to 3-6 ft. tall and equally as wide, Cleome is an ideal addition to your garden and perfect in background plantings and mixed with shrubs. Beautiful singular or group in clusters of 6 or more for a stunning display. Performs best in full sun or light shade in average, dry to medium moisture, and well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established. Planting instructions: 1. Sow seeds directly into the garden after the last frost . Alternatively, start indoors under lights one month before the last frost. 2. Press the seeds onto damp, prepared soil . Cleome seeds require sunlight to germinate. 3. Plant seeds or thin seedlings 12" to 24" apart . 4. Germination occurs in 7 to 21 days under optimal conditions. 5. Keep the soil moist until germination The seeds were harvested early 09/2024 and should be planted in the coming season 2025 because Cleome seeds are only viable for about 1 year.
